Ahfiah Privacy Policy

Effective Date:  August 2025.

Welcome to Ahfiah, a discovery platform and marketplace for service providers across Nigeria. Developed by Easi Technology Software and Services Limited, the Ahfiah App enables users to explore local service providers, save their favorite experiences, leave reviews, and access discounts and promotions. We also source public online information to help users connect more easily with relevant services.

This Privacy Policy outlines how we collect, use, and share your information when you interact with the Ahfiah app.

1. Information We Collect

Account & Profile Data

  • Name, email, phone number, password, and an image of yourself.

Marketplace & Bookings (where enabled)

  • Ad/listing content and media you upload.

  • Booking details (service booked, date/time, location, notes).

  • Customer/provider names and contact details are exchanged to fulfil a booking.

  • Payment-related metadata from our processors (e.g., status, amount, method, non-card tokens). We do not store card numbers.

Post Board & Reviews

  • Posts, replies, likes, images, and any reviews/comments you submit.

  • These items may be public to logged-in users; please share thoughtfully.

Directory, Ratings & Social Links

  • We may display rating signals (e.g., Google rating and review counts) with a link to the source.

  • Public social info you choose to link (e.g., Instagram handle) and, where permitted, preview thumbnails. Third-party content remains the property of its owner and can be removed on request.

Location & Device Data

  • Approximate or precise location (if you allow it) to show nearby services.

  • Device type, app version, language, IP address, performance and crash data.

Usage & Communications

  • Messages we send you (service updates, reminders, promotions) and your preferences.

Sources

  • You (when you submit info), publicly available sources, and service providers that claim/update their pages. We also use lawful third-party tools for hosting, forms, media, analytics, and automation.

2. How We Use Information

  • Provide & improve the service: run the Directory, Marketplace, and Post Board; personalize results; power search and recommendations.

  • Operate the Marketplace: publish ads, generate shareable links, manage expiry/renewals, surface featured placements.

  • Bookings & payments (where enabled): facilitate bookings, deposits/fees, reminders, and status updates via third-party processors.

  • Safety & moderation: detect abuse, enforce policies, and resolve reports/disputes.

  • Communicate with you: account notices, operational messages, promotional updates (you can opt out).

  • Analytics & development: understand feature usage and improve performance.

  • Legal & compliance: satisfy legal obligations and enforce our Terms.

Our lawful bases may include contract (to provide requested features), consent (e.g., location, marketing), and legitimate interests (security, quality, analytics).

3. How We Share Information

  • Between customers and providers: we share necessary booking details so services can be delivered (e.g., name, contact, appointment info).

  • Processors & partners (on our behalf): hosting, storage, media, forms , automation , database/UI , analytics, email/SMS, payments. They are bound to use data only to provide services to us.

  • Ratings & social links: when you link external profiles or we show rating signals, clicking may take you to a third-party site governed by its own policy.

  • Public content: Marketplace ads, Post Board posts/replies, and profile data you choose to display may be visible to others.

  • Legal, safety, and rights: when required by law or to protect users, the public, or the platform.

  • Business changes: in a merger, acquisition, or asset transfer, data may be part of the transaction.

We do not sell personal data.

4. Your Choices & Controls

  • Profile & account: view, update, or delete certain info in your account settings; request deletion of your account.

  • Location: enable/disable location in your device settings.

  • Marketing: unsubscribe via email links or in settings.

  • Post Board & ads: edit or remove your own posts/ads; request removal of linked social previews.

  • Access & rights: where applicable (e.g., under Nigeria’s data protection law), you may request access, correction, deletion, portability, or objection/restriction. We will respond as required by law.

Data retention: We keep information only as long as necessary for the purposes above, to comply with law, or resolve disputes. We may retain minimal records (e.g., invoices, fraud logs) as permitted.

5. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the nature of the data (encryption in transit, access controls, monitoring). No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.

6. Children’s Privacy

Ahfiah is not intended for children under 13 (or the age of digital consent in your region). We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided data, please contact us to remove it; support@ahfiah.com

7. International Transfers

We may process and store information on servers outside your country. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the Effective Date above and publish the updated version in the app. Please review periodically.
